I've had to pull out good old June again. That's right. I needed to use the Principles of Knitting by June Hemmons Hiatt. It's my knitting bible now, for all things technical about knitting. I'm still plugging away at the Shakespeare Cardigan, but I'm sick of taking photos of it so instead of I have my Multnomah Shawl. Anyhoo, I needed June to answer a question about decreasing. On the Shakespeare cardi, you have to decrease a bunch of stitches evenly across one row and it didn't specify what kind of decreases to do or in what intervals. I consulted June. Alas there was no mention of evenly spaced decreases in the index that I could find and I didn't have the time to read the whole section on decreasing to find out if it was there anyway so I turned to the trusty interwebs. They didn't fail me. There's this nifty calculator that makes the math easy for you. It saved me from a serious headache. What are you knitting and reading these days??? Tags:
