Spring 2012 Knitting Works in Progress

A note to future mothers who knit: when your knitting is in constant danger of complete destruction by drumstick-obsessed toddlers you may become reluctant to knit. It is painful to those with a knitting obsession to see hours of work enthusiastically undone by the happiest of little faces. It takes wells of patience and self-restraint to let go of the anger and calmly retrieve the toddler drumsticks knitting needles and explain that those pointy sticks are not drum sticks. Knitting can really teach patience, perserverance and persistance, especially when you have to knit the same round 6 times.

So that's the long way of saying it's been a while since I got into my knitting. But we've more than made up for it with multiple projects on the needles:

I'm still working on the Diminishing Rib Cardigan. It was gut wrenching to knit the top 8.5 inches and discover that I had not done enough increases for the arms. I still have no idea how that happened, but I've re-knit 7.5 inches and we're getting close to setting up the arms on this top down raglan.

I've started another vanilla toe-up sock with the Wonderland Dyeworks I bought at Stitches West. That's what handpainted sock yarn is for. To make vanilla sock knitting interesting. Baby son #1 managed to rip it out a little, but not enough to be demoralizing.

And I'm still making mitered blanket squares, but I don't have any pictures of those yet.
