Knit Luck Links January 2013

2skp6_largeEvery now and then I come across knitting content that needs to be shared. Here are a few things that have piqued my knitting interest.

Dennis Marquez's new blog Unbound Knits is a new favorite of mine and it's a textbook example of how to start a knitting blog. Excellent design with beautiful photographs with a clear writing voice. It was a no-brainer to add him to my blog reader. I'm totally taking notes. He's a new designer and just the sneak peeks of his latest design have me smitten.

This came out a few months ago, but there's an article about Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam and her hand crocheted playgrounds in Japan.

Melissa Leapman's Knitting for the Perfect Fit is a must have book for every knitter. If you want to knit sweaters that fit and have an intimate understanding about how increases and decreases work then you must get this book. It will save you years of knitting frustration and you will end up with more sweaters that fit and a stronger sense of knitting design.

Slipped Stitch Studios's Dr Who Tardis Toile Project Bags. I'm not even the biggest Dr Who fan and I still think this clever pattern is a must have for a knitting bag.

Blogging about knitting since 2004.

What's going on now?

To sum up: husband has a job after two layoffs in 2013. Husband has been laid off for the fourth time in two years due to companies cancelling projects. I have two kids under the age of 5, we just moved in with my mother in law and I think I'm starting to get my mojo back. I've had writer's block for weeks.
