Reading in the Ravelry Bay Are Knitters forum I discovered that there's going to be a new Fiber Festival this JUNE! That's good news for the tons of knitters in the Bay Area who just have a short drive to Oakland to check out all things textiles. Check out the Oakland Fiber Fest! It's June 27th at Splash Pad Park from 10 am to 4 pm.
It's sponsored by Piedmont Yarns and it's free to enter. They're looking for additional vendors and supporters, so if you're looking to get your art, yarn, quilts, and fiber in front of a fiber loving audience, check it out:
If you are interested in participating as a Vendor at the Festival, please contact:
Bente Petersen - Piedmont Yarn & Apparel
We are looking for Vendors comprised of retailers, artist, guilds and non-profits organizations related to the art of knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning, sewing, quilting, needlepoint and felting.
I can't wait to attend! Seriously, Oakland is experiencing a revival of sorts. The Fox Theater is turning into the best musical venue in the bay, there are restaurants galore, and Jack London Square has a tremendous farmer's market.

What's going on now?
Miracles have happened and husbeast received and accepted a job offer at his dream company last week. He starts work soon. We are breathing sighs of relief and expecting great things ahead.
I'm knitting. I've been caring for my two sons, living at my MIL's house, volunteering at our local co-op preschool and gardening. Trying to find time to write and to redefine this blog to embrace my current reality.
