Cool Ads in Vogue Knitting Spring 2009
Sunday, 05 April 2009 10:28

One of my favorite things about new knitting magazine issues is perusing the ads. Oftentimes, this is one of the quickest ways to discover new products, stores and designers. Here's what I've found in the Spring/Summer 2009 issue of Vogue Knitting that has captured my attention:

Aslan Trends is having a "Contest for the Creative Knitter 2009 Knitting Challenge"

Also,  Nicky Epstein's Knitting in Tuscany looks appealing to me. It's only 13.57 at Amazon.

The Fiberspheres look like something my cat will like to chase after without ruining my yarn.

Clover has a new high-end line of highly polished bamboo knitting needles.

I love the blue color they use for the Cropped Cardigan in the Fibranatura ad, which is for universal yarn.

I have never heard of foxyknits, but their ad made me visit their site.

frontI woke up this morning and found all of this cool stuff. Seriously, I can't handle the cuteness.

Never Not Knitting has finished the Liesl pattern with a gorgeous celadon shade of Rowan Summer Tweed.

KrisKnits has created some beautiful spring washcloth patterns. (see photo, left)

Knit Me a Therapy shows an excellent example of how blocking enhances your finished knitting.

More goat and farmy goodness from Chickens in the Road.

I have been so busy writing my own content, that I haven't been keeping up with the good things that are going on in the blogosphere.

Hanks Yarn is having a 2009 Block of the Month Afghan. The photo to the left is the block from this March.

Yarntopia has some unique handdyed yarns on Etsy.

Crafty Gryphon has a sheep LED Art, (which Izzytart told me about too)

Crafty Diversions has some excellent photos of their yarn dyeing exploits. Makes me want to give it a go! They also have some nifty tutorials.

Enjoy!

Knitter Tattoos
Thursday, 02 April 2009 14:58

tattoo_012(photo from Knit r Done) It's my 30th birthday this year and I'm finally going to get that tattoo I've always wanted. I have wanted a cable knit heart in the middle of my back for a while, however I'll probably start off with some stars swirling around my wrist first.

But this being a knitting site, I wanted to share some knitting tattoos.

Knitting Dragonflies talked about getting one in 2007 and has some excellent links!

Kniterdone just had her tattoo uh, er done!

Twist Collective features Sophie who has a stitch gauge tattooed on her arm. She's a walking knit kit (jk) The Twist Collective link also has lots of links to knitting tattoos.

This lovely lady uses tatoo ink to dye yarn.
