Rose-Kim Knits is having a crochet moment (inspiring me to have one as well).

Ysolda goes to New York (gorgeous photos).

Heatherknitz is having a Button of the Month club.

StarMonkeyBrass needs some love.

Somebody has knit the world's largest tea cozy.

Knitting Warm Fuzzies -Teaching Kids to Knit
Monday, 20 April 2009 09:22

Tattooed Yarn is a teacher and she has arranged to have her students learn knitting in the last seven weeks of school. She was able to get enough donations so that all of her students could learn. Something about that made me feel warm and fuzzy. Here's hoping that knitting sticks for a couple of them. :)

Lexie Barnes Bags On Sale!
Monday, 20 April 2009 09:10

LDB-PAC-400-NEWI love my Lexie Barnes bag. I've had it for two years and you'd never know it. There's little wear on it despite having travelled around the US and to Fiji. It's my favorite knitting bag and it's super conveinent that my laptop fits nicely in there as well. Anyhoo, some of Lexie's bags are 50% off on her website. Tons of variety. Check it out before they fly off the shelves!

cthulhuOMG!!!!! Call of Cthulhu Amigarumi. A must for gaming geeks, everywhere. This is special enough for me to delve deeper into crochet.

This is courtesy of Trinlayk's Etsy Shop. She only has a few of them, but she has many more cute things!

It's Sunday, a beautiful Sunday. The weather is perfect, so I took some photos:

And I've made some spinning progress. I know it's not pretty, but I'm so proud of it!

DSC03251The roving is from Lamina's Closet and it's silver romney. I'm finding spinning to be a little more satisfying than knitting. It's nice to shake it up a bit. I think I might be a convert!

Saturday Links

There's lots of fun stuff today, which is what happens when I have different RSS browsers on my home computer.

Picnik_collage_thumb2Currently Crafting talks about fulfilling her knitting pledge.

According to Rose-Kim Knits both the Knit1 and Interweave Knits summer previews are up. Write about them on your blog, tell me about it and I'll link to it. My personal opinion are that neither of them are striking enough for me to purchase them. But I probably will anyway. Never did I think I'd see the day where Knit1 would produce more interesting patterns than Interweave Knits. It's gotten to the point where they all look the same. Even Rowan's magazine is looking more wearable than the summer Interweave. Of course, this is based on the preview. I may be convinced otherwise once I get the new issue in my hot little hands.

Chickens in the Road has a sad story about their goat, Honey.

The Hook and I has a little something for the crocheters :)

Bohemian Knitter Chic has some new online patterns available, and I'm still quite envious of her knitting tattoos.

Also there's Sock Summit. Have you decided to go? Coming soon from us will be some cool info about Portland to help convince you further that you absolutely have to go.

ArtYarnUK has announced something called Knitting Nature.

Oh and I've discovered a new yarn shop in Santa Rosa that I'm gonna have to check out. Probably on the way up to Mendocino, whenever that is. It's called Castaway Yarn.
