I love knitting bags. I can't have too many knitting bags, but I don't like spending an arm and a leg on them (well maybe except when it comes to Lexie Barnes). I've long coveted the bags from Baggallini, but have not really wanted to spend the money on them. Then I found out that there was going to be a big Baggallini sale at One Kings Road (use this link and you'll get $15 just for registering at One Kings Lane).
What I love about these bags is that they're crossbody bags, meaning that you wear them like you would a messenger bag across your body. However I don't love messenger bags because they're bulky and not always the fashion statement I'm wanting to make. Baggallini combines the functionality of a messenger bag with the stylishness of a handbag which totally meshes with my love of all things practical.
Check out some of the bags that I'm coveting:

The Touring Tote in Leaf Green for $45

The Brussels Crossbody in Champagne (say it with me now, cham-pag-knee) for $59

The Brussels Crossbody in Pewter for $59
Which one should I get???? Which one do you like? Let me know because the sale ends Saturday and I don't want to miss it.

I'm a huge fan of tweed yarns and it delighted me to discover that you can get full bags of Queensland Kathmandu Aran Tweed for $27.50. That's $2.70/ball of yarn. It was a deal that I could not pass up. At Little Knits.

It's that time again... for Craftsy's mystery box sale. Every month, Craftsy sells a mystery box that comes with designer yarn and high-end needles. I've done the Craftsy mystery box twice. The first time I got some giant Lantern Moon needles and this deluxe bison/cormo blend yarn that was softer than cashmere. The second time I got another pair of Lantern Moon needles (in a new size, yay!) and one skein of Malabrigo Rasta as well as Ironside Felicia. There was enough yarn to make a little top for a toddler and a cowl for somebody's Christmas gift.
There's still time to get your own mystery box. The October mystery box is on sale for 50% off. That's $50 worth of luxury yarn goods for only $25. Or you can get the premium box with $100 worth of luxury knitting goods for only $40. I think I'm going to get the luxury box. I need some good news in the post.
You can see here what I got in the July box. I can't wait to start knitting that cowl.

Have you gotten a craftsy mystery box? What do you think?

Artfibers Recycled Cotton Denim
Another tidbit of yarn sale news just arrived in the old email inbox: Artfibers, San Francisco's go-to knitting destination for one-of-a-kind yarns is having a clearance sale. It's high knitting season, what with the changing of the leaves and the holidays on their way. Want something a little extra special to make? Art Fibers has amazing fiber combinations in colors you won't find anywhere else. You can read all about my last trip to Art Fibers here. If you find yourself in the Bay Area (mayhaps for the World Series?) you must visit.
These things don't go on sale often, so you have to take advantage of it when they do.
Have you been to Artfibers? Tell me all about it in the comments.

I got a little message in my email today that Craftsy is having a super sale. They already have some fabulous deals, but they have decreased their prices even more. If you're looking for special yarns at decent prices for holiday gifts, this is your opportunity!
Lorna's Laces Worsted in Ascot This is a gorgeous color for a holiday hat!!!!
Fibra Natura Cottonwood Yarn in Austin for only $3.50/skein. You could make a beautiful tank top for next summer for under $30.
Manos for $9.95/skein One skein would make a gorgeous cowl (great for holiday gifts)
Studio Donegal for $9.95/skein (gorgeous tweed!) This tweed is made with merino wool -so much softer than most tweeds!

I'm super stoked. I managed to get one of Craftsy's woo hoo Mystery Boxes! My obsession with mystery purchases goes back to the Woot bag of crap, which I still have never managed to obtain. If you're not familiar with the Woot bag of crap, woot basically puts random things in a bag, you buy it for $5 and get a surprise in the mail. Sometimes that surprise is a flatscreen tv, or a set of golf clubs. Fun yes, but notoriously difficult to get. They sell out in seconds. The demand is so high that people have written software to watch woot and warn you of an impending bag of crap. So I was pretty happy when Craftsy came out with its own "bag of crap" but instead of random junk you end up with random yarn. What knitter wouldn't like that?
It's not $5, it's actually $25, but you get $50 of yarn and needles. Looks like it sold out! I can't wait to get mine in the mail to show off what's in the box. :D
