Today's Finished Object Made of Awesome is the Swedish Heartwarmer Shawl knitted by Doc Steph of And She Knits Too fame. This shawl was knit in Sanguine Gryphon's Bugga Bugga and now I see what the fuss is all about with this yarn. The deep colors give the shawl a lushness that I can't imagine other yarns giving. It looks like fall in a shawl and for that, she gets my award for a Finished Object Made of Awesome.
From the site:
it was an absolute pleasure to knit. The pattern was clear, the yarn fantastic, the rows were long, but I got into a groove. Even the icord just sorta happened.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you with the Humping Mooses Hat, made by Raveler Nimble Thimble. It's a variation on the Humping Deer chart. I actually got to see the hat in person, just moments after it was completed. This hat is fully lined and destined for someone in Alaska. It's one of the coziest hats I've seen, able to keep you warm through the dead of winter -and make you laugh.

I'm such a sucker for well-knit shawls. Many of my favorite knitting I see on the internet involves people's finished lace shawls. Knitted lace requires such precision, an attention to detail that I just can't do right now. So I look at these shawls and instead of feeling envious, I'm simply in awe.
Photo Knit Dog has made just that type of shawl and her photos are fantastic -knitting porn at its best. It helps that she is also a photographer with her own business. It's the Children of Lir shawl, designed by Megan Bayonet of from Fuzz to Finish designs, and it is exquisitely executed. It's a finished object made of awesome!

Photo and Jacket by Rambling Designs, Today's Finished Object Made of Awesome
I've had this open on my tabs for quite some time. This exquisite sweater/jacket knitted by Rambling Designs isn't just expertly executed, but also fits the knitter perfectly. The best part? Rambling Designs knit it freehand, herself. This I suppose isn't all that surprising since Rambling Designs is uh, a designer. I love the rustic quality of her work and how she is able to bring out the yarn's texture in her designs.
Here's what she has to say about the jacket:
Here it is now, done and done! I am very happy with it! It's something for every day. Not quite as thick as a winter coat, but warmer then the summer jackets I have.
Awesome Knitting, Rambling Designs!
